If You Don’t Like Inspiration, You Might Wanna Skip This Piece.

Still Learning to Live the Word Daily

If you don’t like ‘God is So Good’ testimonies, you might wanna skip this piece.

Lately, while living through the throes of deep depression, hopelessness, and quite frankly, desperation, God, right out of nowhere, just handed me an invaluable golden HOPE nugget. I should preface by saying that I was succumbing to satan’s (BTW, Microsoft word is trying to get me to capitalize the name satan. Sorry Microsoft, I’m unable to allow him the respect). Anyway, back to my story, I was succumbing to satan’s favorite evil scam. You know, the one where he almost successfully convinces you that you’re not good enough. You have nothing to offer that anyone else would ever be interested in. Why bother? Better yet why even continue the charade, the attempt to deal with the losing battle of fatigue, the worthlessness and the inability to feel His presence that others claim to possess. Probably because He’s not really who they say and probably doesn’t exist.

Now, before I bring you down to the point of no return, please allow me to change the direction of this little diatribe. For the purposes of background reference, you should know that throughout this period, God was continually downloading this tiny hint of a seed everywhere I went and every time I turned around; “Read My Word”, “Immerse yourself in My Living Word”, “Live My Word” and “Know My Word so that it can be applied and used as a helpmate in all that you do”. “This is where you will find your strength”. Although, I realized I should be grateful and humbled that God would take the time to gently knock, the state I was in wouldn’t allow me to see it that way. I was incompliant. But I’m so thankful that Jesus knows!

Before I get ahead of myself, let me go back to paragraph #1; the part where it was no longer worth the fight. Recently, I was driving to work on an extremely dreary day, trying with all I could muster to figure out how I was going to function yet another day. Out of the blue I decided to turn on the radio in an improbable attempt to raise my spirit and energy levels. Although not used for quite some time, the radio happened to be programmed to Joy 99 and I just happened to catch the last few minutes of an interview between the morning crew and Danny Gokey. I was just in time to catch, comprehend, and most of all, RECEIVE the Golden Nugget, that Jesus had prepared for me. Danny had been sharing his story of pain, hopelessness and despair. He then referenced the scripture

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The scripture definitely resonated with me, but it also filled me with confirmation that Jesus can restore the hope and joy that I so desperately needed at that time. He is never early, never late, but always right on time. But, that’s not all God had for me at that moment. It seemed the below revelation was instilled within me instantaneously.

The GOLDEN NUGGET, the KEY

When we study His Living Word and keep it fresh and ‘on-call’ within our spirit, we will always be able to pull from the strength of His promises and remain steady and calm throughout any crisis, storms or battle that satan attempts to sink us with. Satan’s weapons of confusion, depression, addiction, temptation, marital, financial or health problems….and, the list goes on, cannot prosper when the Word lives within your spirit. You and I will be ‘in the know’ and pull strength from those promises that we know exists in His Word that have been reserved for His children.

He didn’t say that we wouldn’t have dark times, but He DID say that He would walk beside us, love us, and remind us, through His Word in your heart, of His promise that He will never forsake us. When this knowledge is instilled in our spirit, we can victoriously pull through the storms with the realization that there’s higher meaning at stake and will be victorious soon. When we’ve finally and completely become to realize the true hope that Jesus has given us, we are equipped to ride out any storm with hope and praise in our hearts.

This is how we live His Word. Isn’t that beautiful!
